Amendment No.6
Amendment No.6: Clarify that the Green Bridge remains a non-vehicular structure intended for pedestrian, bicycle, and green infrastructure connectivity
In order to give clarity on the timing of the green bridge provision in relation to the phasing of construction of residential units and flexibility around design and provision of a green bridge across the railway, it is proposed that the following amendments are integrated into the Planning Scheme.
The change to Table 4.2 is aimed at providing clarity that the green bridge is not part of the phasing programme and will form a separate project to the Griffeen Valley Park Extension. The changes to Section 2.3 are to ensure there is flexibility around the provision of the green bridge. The delivery of the Green Bridge across the railway line and Adamstown Avenue is a complex project in terms of safety and agreements with Irish Rail. To date, the retrofitting of the existing bridge to a Green Bridge has not been demonstrated as feasible or viable. The proposed amendments retain the provision of a Green Bridge for mammal passing and remove references to retrofitting or replacing the existing pedestrian/ cycle bridge.
