Amendment No.16
Amendment No.16: Provide clarity in relation to assessment of domestic extensions and alterations
It is proposed that an addition be made to Section 2.1.4 Residential Units to provide clarity on how applications for extensions or alterations to residential units should be assessed. To date, there is no provision in the Planning Scheme regarding such modifications.
It is therefore considered appropriate to include a statement confirming that applications for extensions or alterations to residential units shall be assessed in accordance with the guidance and policies set out in the applicable South Dublin County Development Plan at the time of the application.

Add a paragraph to the existing text under the heading ‘Residential Units’:
The minimum and maximum achievable number of residential units in Clonburris together with target dwelling numbers are set out in Table 2.1.5. Residential unit numbers are based on an allowable margin within a prescribed density range for each Development Area (see Section 2.1.5 – Residential Density). For clarity, the maximum achievable number of residential units incorporates flexibility for landmark buildings.
Domestic extension and alterations permissions will be considered based on the guidance provided in the applicable South Dublin County Development Plan and the SDCC House Extension Design Guide or any subsequent guidance documents.
