I would like to raise awareness of some policy documents and resources that should be considered when developing a planning framework for Clondalkin.
In addition to the below I would like to highlight access issues for Clondalkin Primary Care Centre. There is no yellow box at the entrance / exit to the Primary Care Centre which makes it difficult for service users to access the centre. Additionally public are parking on the footpath and in the Primary Care Centre spaces, especially during school drop off / pick up times blocking access for pedestrians and service users to the building.
Age friendly parking spaces and seating should be more widely available throughout the Clondalkin area.
The universal design approach from Age Friendly Ireland should be considered.
It would be great to progress the plan to have Clondalkin as a Dementia inclusive community and this would be a great partnership project between the HSE, SDCC and other key stakeholders in the area, including An Garda Síochána.

- Title: Age Friendly Health Systems – The 4Ms - patient education video
- Description: This video is aimed at older adults and introduces the 4Ms framework—What Matters, Medication, Mind, and Mobility. You will see healthcare staff discussing each element of the 4Ms and a patient partner, an expert in this field, speaking about What Matters most to him and his family. You will learn how the 4Ms can help to ensure your care focuses on what’s important to you, keeps your medicines safe, supports your memory and mental health, and helps you stay moving and independent. It’s all about making your healthcare fit your life and goals.
