We strongly support the Draft plan position that the land around Finnstown Castle Hotel in Lucan be retained as Parks and Recreation zoning because Lucan does not need any more land rezoning as there is adequate residential zoned land being developed and available for development for housing in Adamstown and Clonburris for the next 10 years.
The current traffic congestion is at an extremely high level and with the planned evelopments like Clonburris and the completion of Adamstown still to happen we feel that further development is unsustainable and that there is great need to include more parks and recreation facilities. We consider Finnstown Castle Hotel and its grounds a wonderful ammenity on our door step that provides a much needed quiet space to get away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life in all the estates that enclose it. It captures a unique atmosphere within the Lucan area and is enjoyed by young and old alike. It provides a much needed community service where families can gather and enjoy the grunds or celebrate special occasions.
