Dear Sir/Madam,
We wish to lodge a formal objection to the proposed laneway between Laurel Park and Floraville.
We believe this laneway would cause significant negative impacts on both estates for the reasons below
• Privacy and Security
The laneway would provide uncontrolled access to residential properties, creating opportunities for anti-social behaviour, burglary, and trespass. This poses a serious risk to household security.
• Safety Concerns
Increased pedestrian and bicycle traffic through a narrow laneway will raise safety issues, particularly for our children and elderly residents in our area
• Noise and Disturbance
A laneway encourages through-traffic, leading to increased late-night noise and disturbance, which would be highly disruptive to residents’ quiet enjoyment of their homes. Our estate in a quiet estate and should remain this way
For these reasons, I respectfully request that the proposed laneway be omitted from the development plans. Instead, pedestrian movement can be safely accommodated through existing road and footpath networks.
We trust the planning authority will take these concerns into account and uphold the amenity and security of existing and future residents.
Kind regards
Claire & Carl Hughes
