Chapter 9: Implementation and Monitoring

1: Pedestrian Improvement Proposals - I would like to raise concerns that any future planned safe routes for school will lead to narrow roads, removal of road space and undue safety concerns for pedestrians and cyclists. One cannot say that the upgrade works at the new nangor road were a success, there have been near accidents here, cars have to go over to the other side of the road. There is the same amount of cars, on less road space, especially in bad weather, it is unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists, as paths have been widened, roads narrowed... similar situation with the bawnogue upgrades.

2: Cycle Improvements... will this lead to again, further eroding/narrowing of road space, the main example, Boot Road/Convent Road/Main st, Clondalkin, barely has space for 1 car, so if a cycle lane is installed, there is no space for both cars and bikes so the bike lanes will essentially be pointless because the cars will HAVE to drive in the bike lane.
