Objection to proposed permeable routes into Floraville estate
As residents of Floraville Avenue we have several concerns regarding this proposal.
- The introduction of a public walkways adjacent to private properties significantly compromises the privacy and security of residents. Increased foot traffic near homes may lead to a rise in trespassing and vandalism and other anti-social behaviour.
- A walkway would inevitably bring more cars and noise to what a quiet residential environment is currently. This would negatively impact the quality of life for local families, particularly during early morning or late evening hours.
- Many residents including ourselves feel that there has been insufficient consultation or communication regarding this proposal. We would urge the council to reconsider this proposal and explore alternative routes or solutions that do not compromise the integrity of our residential area.
- We strongly object to the proposed construction of a public walkways in our residential area, specifically Floraville Avenue. We are also requesting that our objection be formally recorded and taken into consideration during the planning decision process.
Objection to draft proposal for Floraville Estate
We currently have significant problems with traffic in this estate. Open access will present further challenges with regard to traffic especially at school hours presently it is extremely difficult for children and parents crossing the road in this estate. To address environmental issues and climate action, SDCC should do something about the continuing presents of the SIAC asphalt plant emitting noise and odour along with the poor quality of air right in the heart of the village.
