Chapter 1: Introduction and Context
This chapter sets out the context for the Local Planning Framework (LPF). The area it encompasses, the rationale for the Plan and the legislative and policy context. It also provides information on the current population and housing based on Census 2022.
The chapter also gives an overview of the preparation of the LPF and the pre-planning consultations that took place over the period from 2023 to early 2025.
Finally, there is a brief section on the structure of the LPF and how to use it.
