Tallaght needs a Museum or Heritage Center
Noise pollution on N4 has become detrimental to quality of life in Ardeevin Avenue
Finding suitable and appropriate homes that can accommodate changing needs over time can be difficult – whether for families with young children, a person with a temporary or permanent injury, someone with a disability or an older person. Universal Design can meet everyone’s needs through flexible homes designed to adapt to a person’s lifecycle and lifestyle patterns of people over time.
The rezoning of this small section of forested land would provide improved access & egress to the forest generally but especially for heavy machinery to the middle and edge sections of the forest. It would also facilitate improved maintenance of the forest generally. In addition, enabling the strip of land to be used for typical housing uses (back garden, open space, etc.) would greatly improve its amenity value. And finally, rezoning this small strip of land would facilitate its use for pedestrian access/egress from the Clonard and Clonbrone lands to/from the Lucan Road, via the right-of-way steps. This would improve permeability of this section of Lucan and provide enhanced amenity in tandem with an attractive pedestrian route that would enhance the general characteristics and attraction of Lucan village and its immediate environs. Kindly note that NO trees not previously identified as requiring felling would be felled for these uses.

GNI is involved in two initiatives which can benefit South Dublin from both an economic and environmental perspective: - Development of renewable gas injection infrastructure. - Development of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG ) infrastructure for gas in transport. GNI has provided suggested text in the attached document that the South Dublin Development Plan could include to support these two initiatives.
It is concerning to note that there is not a single reference to the economic importance and benefits of the quarry and extractive industry within the Issues Paper. This is especially concerning considering the county’s population growth endeavours as set out in the Population Growth and Housing chapter.
Rathcoole Woodland needs to be protected for future generations.
The Biodiversity plan and the County Well Being Statement must feature in the County Development Plan
The area of South West Dublin between the Red and Green Luas lines badly needs high capacity public transport. Over 30 residents’ associations support continuing MetroLink to serve this area rather than burying the tunnel boring machine beneath Ranelagh. This case is set out in "The case for Continuing MetroLink to South West Dublin", South West Dublin Metro Group, August 2020 (copy attached). The benefits for those living in South West Dublin are set out in "Improvement in Commuting Times", South West Dublin Metro Group, September 2020.
Rathcoole Woodlands corresponds to an EU Priority Annex I habitat (see uploaded document of ecologist's report)
Large apartment blocks in Clondalkin Village should be scaled back.
Cycling infrastructure is desperately needed
We need more safe segregated cycling routes
South Dublin County Council could be home to a world class greenway and tourist attraction which connects the Blessington lakes with Dublin city centre.
Please stop developing dublin with houses. These are not helping dublin itself grow and endless housing estates with no local amenities is soul crushing for the people who live there. Plan to build in Dublin like every other major european city had done. High density, mixed use property with strong public transport infrastructure.
Community center, library, secondary schools needed urgently for the area. Rooms in apartment developments are not for the whole community or managed by anyone
