I want to give my full support for the plans to Main Street, the Village Green, Promenade and Demense Park Entrance. I think this will positively transform the town and make it far more inviting to Lucan residents like myself. I live in Lucan and this plan would make the centre of the town far more enticing to visit for a coffee or food. I would like to see a bit more bicycle parking in the plan and would even suggest removal of even more car parking spaces, I'm also a motorist and drive currently but would love to be able to cycle easier and park the bike. With the canal loop greenway connecting into Lucan, it really could make a great place to stop off with the bike. This would also entice tourists to visit the town as they will make use of the greenway. I would also like to see some traffic calming around the main street, bollards, lane narrowing and speed ramps or speed tables combined with pedestrian crossings or pelican crossings would be a very positive addition.
