Support rejection of changes to Ed’s by local councillors
I support keeping St Edmundsbury as High Amenity land and oppose any plans to rezone it for housing.
St Edmundsbury supports biodiversity and provides wildlife habitats. Developing this land would permanently damage the local environment and landscape.
Keeping St Edmundsbury as High Amenity land is in line with the National Planning Framework, which promotes protecting green infrastructure, biodiversity, natural capital and building climate resilience. It also recognises the importance of preserving green spaces that contribute to a strong sense of place and community wellbeing.
Once this green space is lost, it cannot be replaced. I ask South Dublin County Council to retain the High Amenity zoning and protect St Edmundsbury for future generations.
