Compliance with national planning framework
The national planning framework emphasises community well being and the importance of a sense of place. The bio diverse liffey valley and specifically the lands at St Edmondsbury have for countless generations provided Lucanians with that real sense of place. This is who we are and this is part of our community. We have seen Lucan grow and grow over the last decades all the while preserving this high amenity.
South Dublins motto is "This we hold in trust" not this we pave over. The lands provide a much needed ecological buffer in an ever expanding suburban landscape.
I urge SDCC to preserve these lands and hold them in trust for future generations to enjoy as unspoilt, bio diverse, ecologically important as past generations have
