Comment on re-zoning for St Edmundsbury

I wish to make a submission regarding the proposed rezoning of lands at St Edmundsbury, Lucan.

I strongly support the decision NOT to rezone this land.

This area is of significant environmental importance, with established biodiversity and natural habitats that should be preserved. It also represents an area of special beauty and heritage value for the local community and future generations.

Rezoning for development would result in the irreversible loss of these natural and environmental assets. Once lost, they cannot be replaced.

There are more appropriate locations for housing development that do not involve sacrificing important green space and biodiversity.

For these reasons, I respectfully support the vote to retain the current zoning and protect St Edmundsbury from development.
