MA5.1 – Citywest

I am making this submission regarding MA5.1 – Citywest.

I am not opposed to housing, but Saggart and Citywest have already experienced rapid growth while schools, healthcare, childcare, transport, sports facilities and community services have struggled to keep pace.

Before further development takes place, the Council should require evidence that school places, water supply, wastewater capacity and local services are sufficient to support any additional housing.

The proposed community centre/sports hall and active travel link should have clear delivery commitments and timelines and should be provided alongside the housing, rather than years afterwards.

I ask that MA5.1 be strengthened to ensure that housing and the necessary infrastructure are planned, funded and delivered together.
