Objection to Astro Turf pitches

I’d like to voice my concern in relation to the proposed AstroTurf pitch in the park beside our homes. While sports facilities are important, this project would cause serious problems for local residents and the community. Some of my main concerns are:

• Floodlights will cause light pollution and disrupt nearby homes, especially at night.
• The pitch will no longer be available to dog walkers, families, and local residents, who currently enjoy the space.
• Hosting several teams will bring traffic and parking issues, which the area simply cannot handle.
• The development will mean the loss of one of the last green spaces in the area, replacing it with artificial turf.

This park is one of the few remaining natural spaces for local residents. Turning it into AstroTurf would be a huge loss for the whole community.
