Mayor Peter Kavanagh has opened this online Book of Condolence to allow people within South Dublin County to express their sympathies to the family of Michael Maher, a founder member of the RAMS Active Retirement Association in Newcastle.
Mayor Kavanagh said, "I was saddened to learn of the death of Michael Maher, a much-loved member of the community in Newcastle, on the 13th of December. Michael was a founder member of the RAMS Active Retirement Association in Newcastle and an instrumental part of South Dublin County Council’s first Age-Friendly Strategy. He was a pillar of his community, and represented our county at a national level through his volunteer work with Active Retirement Ireland, with whom he served as a regional chairperson, board member and national vice-president.
My thoughts are with Margaret and their family, as well as with all Michael’s friends and colleagues in Newcastle. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam agus leaba i measc na naomh aige.”
