Draft Bye-Laws for the Segregation, Storage and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste

Notice is hereby given that South Dublin County Council proposes to make new Bye-Laws to regulate and control the Segregation, Storage and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste within its functional area.

It is proposed to make provision in the Bye-Laws for the imposition of a fixed payment of €75 in respect of a contravention of a Bye-Law as an alternative to a prosecution, as provided for in Section 206 of the Local Government Act 2001.

The Draft Bye-Laws are available for inspection at:

From 9am to 5pm on Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm on Friday from

Thursday 28th June 2018 to Tuesday 28th August 2018, both dates inclusive.

Copies of the Draft Bye-Laws will also be available for inspection during the said period at South Dublin County Council’s Public Libraries at Ballyroan, Clondalkin, Lucan and Tallaght and may also be viewed online at www.sdcc.ie

A copy of the draft Bye-Laws may also be obtained free of charge from this location.

Submissions and observations on the proposed draft bye-laws can made as follows;

On South Dublin County Council’s Public Consultation Portal website http://consult.sdublincoco.ie up to midnight on 28th August 2018
In writing to the Senior Executive Officer, South Dublin County Council, Environment Water & Climate Change, County Hall, to be received on or before 4.00pm on Tuesday 28th August. Submissions should be clearly marked Draft Bye-Laws for the Segregation, Storage and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste

Only submissions received as set out above will be considered.  Submissions cannot be accepted in any other format or to any other postal address.

Submissions and observations should state the name, address and where relevant, the body represented. All comments submitted, including the names and addresses of those making the comments, will form a report to be presented to South Dublin County Council, and will form part of a public document
