PART 8 SITE NOTICE

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 (AS AMENDED)

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001

(AS AMENDED)

In accordance with Part 8, Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations

2001 (as amended), South Dublin County Council hereby give notice of a proposal to

carry out construction works at the Lucan Demesne and at the Lucan Promenade.

The Proposed Schemes consists of the following works:

Lucan Demesne:

• The construction of a circular paved plaza area and the resurfacing of

non-paved areas with a gravel material.

• The construction of a steel portal to mark the park entrance, with matching

cladding to walls.

• The provision of bench seating and bicycle parking facilities.

• The installation of ducting for statutory service relocations that are affected

by the works.

• Amendments to the existing boundary walls, including the removal of a section.

• Associated earthworks and appropriate landscape works.

Lucan Promenade:

• The modification to the existing steps at the western end of the Lucan

Promenade to form seating facing the weir.

• The provision of footpaths and bench seating.

• Amendments to the existing public lighting and the provision of ducting.

• Associated earthworks and appropriate landscape works.

The proposal has undergone Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening under the

Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and Ecological Assessment under the EIA Directive

(2014/52/EU).

The authority has concluded that there is no likelihood of significant effects on the

environment arising from the proposed development and a determination has been

made that an AA and EIA are not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from

the date of publication of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening

determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant

effects on the environment. The documents are also available to view on the

Council’s Public Consultation Portal website http://consult.sdublincoco.ie

Persons wishing to inspect drawings and particulars of the proposed

development can do so as follows:

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will

be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable

cost of making a copy for a period of four weeks from the Thursday 20th January

2022 to Thursday 3rd March 2022 only; by appointment at the offices of South

Dublin County Council, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24. between the hours

10.00am – 12.00 noon & 2.00pm to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, and available

online on the Consultation Portal http://consult.sdublincoco.ie

Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development dealing

with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the

proposed development will be situated, may be made in writing up to 5.00pm on

the Thursday 3rd March 2022 and may be submitted by post to Senior Engineer,

Roads Construction & Design, LUPT, South Dublin County Council, County Hall,

Tallaght, Dublin 24 YNN5.
