Today I participated in a seminar promoting District Heating that was organised as part of Dublin Climate Action Week. The seminar was from Codema. The point was made that the way Denmark has such high penetration of District Heating is by having a type of zoning which only permits district heating i.e. heating via natural gas or biomass or electricity is not permitted. I thus decided to make a short submission to the SDCC CDP process calling for this type of zoning for the largest residential development that will occur in the county over next decade given the multiple well known benefits of district heating.
