Litir Chumhdaigh
I am living in the Citywest area and believe that the facilities for children & young adults are not sufficient leading to an increase in anti-social behaviour. The draft plans don’t include what I see as minimum requirements for the area to grow and develop.
The current draft plans for Citywest don't allow for facilities which are overdue in the area to help with the social and mental well-being of our children and young adults. The area is one of the fastest growing in the country but all that is being built is new housing developments and no facilities to deal with the increase in population. At a minimum the area needs the following:
Sports Hall & facilities
Library
Community Centre with sufficient rooms for things like dance classes etc
Garda Station
Playgrounds - similar to Tymon Park & Corkagh Park
Cycle Tracks - similar to Corkagh Park
Without these things, our children have nothing to keep them occupied and will revert to unsociable behaviour which is becoming an ever increasing problem in the area.
