Support retention of High Amenity zoning
Observation
I strongly support the decision of the majority of elected members of SDCC NOT TO PROCEED with the proposed residential zoning of the lands at St. Edmundsbury and to retain the existing High Amenity zoning.
I strongly request that the June 2026 decision be upheld for all the reasons summarised below:
1.Residential zoning need already met with previous rezonings, therefore no planning necessity to remove current High Amenity zoning
2.Balance housing need with environmental protection, St. Edmundsbury is wrong location
3.Protection of greater Liffey Valley biodiversity and Green infrastructure network
4.Consistency with the objectives of the County Development Plan
5.Proper planning and development
6.National Planning Policy greater weight on landscape and biodiversity
