Lucan Village green provides a small haven of quiet and peace in the busy village and is used by many to relax and enjoy a quiet moment. I am a regular user of this amenity. Being next to 2 busy roads and traffic lights, this atmosphere is only possible due to the presence of the traditional stone walls and planting separating the green from the traffic. The proposal will remove most of this screen and leave the space completely exposed to the adjoining roadway with no screen to deaden the traffic noise. For these reasons the design is not suitable for the location of the green and would destroy this amenity. The design is also not in keeping with the character of this historic village.
