Finnstown Castle amendment reference 3

I strongly support retaining the Finnstown Castle lands identified as MA3.1 as High Amenity land. These lands provide a valuable open space for the local community and provide lasting benefits for current and future generations. The historic castle and its surrounding landscape are important heritage assets that deserve long-term protection and preservation.

Lucan has already seen substantial development through Adamstown and Clonburris, without a corresponding investment in recreational infrastructure and community amenities. The area is under significant pressure, with limited open space and a road network that is already operating at capacity.

The long-term protection of Finnstown Castle and its lands is essential. Once lost, this unique heritage asset and green space cannot be replaced.
