I'm concerned that the proposed building of houses on the St Edmundsbury lands will lead to a further escalation in the traffic problems affecting Lucan village.
All traffic brings a degree of pollution to the walking/cycling/residential public. The increase in traffic over the last 10 years has had a material affect on me as I am a resident/a cyclist and a pedestrian.
The daily congestion causes standing traffic buildups from 16.00 daily. Many would speculate on the causes of this congestion, the single non toll bridge over the liffey river facilitating through traffic to Fingal areas is at the forefront but increased housing in the main driver.
I believe that SDCC has a responsibility to establish the extent of the traffic pollution in the village prior to further consideration of development at St Edmundsbury
