I have lived Lucan for 22 years now I’m only 25 and have many memories of going on walks in st Edmund’s with my friends and family and schools. Every time we went we took a different route and it felt like somewhere completely different every time from the forest along the river Liffey or just around the fields and you would completely forgot your minutes away from Dublin City a bit of peace in a already hectic town. I also work in the hermitage golf club next door and the views every day remind you of the good memories made there and reminds you how beautiful our country is and it would be a shame to have to look at a load of houses. St Edmund’s is also a vital part of the ecosystem of Lucan as it’s one of the only parts left now that isn’t being built on I see it everyday in work between the birds, rabbits, pheasants and deer that wander into the course. The younger generations of Lucan don’t want to live in a concrete jungle we want to stay here and have something or somewhere we can show or bring our kids and grandkids in the future although I agree more houses should be built I don’t agree st Edmund’s is the right location there’s currently one road passing it which is already jammed with traffic from 7am till 8pm every single day and building hundreds of more houses here will not fix that issue it’s beyond me where they think these people will get onto the roads how people will get public transportation when it’s already outrageous in Lucan. St Edmund’s should of never even been considered to build on and saved for future generations to enjoy
