MA St. Edmundsbury

Ábhair:

I am writing as a local resident to object to the proposed residential rezoning of the St. Edmundsbury lands in Lucan, and to support the councillor motion to scrap this rezoning.

My grounds for objection are:

1. Environmental & Amenity Protection: The land forms part of the Liffey Valley high-amenity corridor and vital green space. Residential development here causes permanent loss of biodiversity and landscape character.

2. Infrastructure & Traffic: Local roads and services in Lucan are already at capacity; adding high-density housing will exacerbate traffic congestion and strain local amenities.

3. Sustainable Development: Council planning should prioritise brownfield sites with existing infrastructure over rezoning sensitive greenfield land.

I request that South Dublin County Council retain the protection of the St. Edmundsbury lands.
