MA Foxhunter

Caibidil:
Ábhair:

I strongly support the protection and restoration of the Foxhunter.

The Foxhunter is an important part of Lucan's built heritage and local identity. As a landmark building, it contributes to the unique character and sense of place that makes Lucan distinct. Once lost, this heritage cannot be recreated.

The National Planning Framework encourages the protection and adaptive reuse of historic buildings wherever possible. Restoring the Foxhunter for an appropriate community, cultural, hospitality or mixed-use purpose would preserve its historic significance while contributing to the economic and social vitality of the village.

The building also forms part of the historic approach to Lucan and complements the surrounding heritage assets and landscape. Its restoration would strengthen the character of the area, support tourism, and reinforce Lucan's identity as a place with a rich architectural and cultural history.

I respectfully ask South Dublin County Council to prioritise the conservation, restoration and sustainable reuse of the Foxhunter, ensuring that this important heritage building remains a valued part of Lucan for future generations.
