South Dublin Libraries Development Plan 2023-2027

What would you like to see in our libraries in the future?

South Dublin Libraries are in the process of creating our Library Development Plan 2023 -2027. This is an important task that will inform how your libraries will grow and evolve to meet your needs. South Dublin County Council is encouraging the public to voice their opinion on the future of your libraries and provide feedback on how services can be improved.

The new plan will be the successor to the ‘Open to You’ South Dublin Library Development Plan 2018-2022 which has overseen the opening of the new library at North Clondalkin, the re-opening of Castletymon Library and the upgrade of the mobile library fleet with two new mobile libraries launched. ‘Open to You’ guided the advancement of our digital literacy offering with increased STEAM programming, introduction of 3D Printers in branches and the provision of an educational lab, Think Big Space, through a partnership with Amazon Web Services.

There has been great progress in the library service in South Dublin over the past five years. The new strategy will be equally ambitious. With this in mind, we are seeking the views of the public to help us understand how you would like the library service to improve and grow. By completing the public survey below you will help us with this important task while having your say on the future of libraries in South Dublin.

The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and will close on Friday 9th September. The survey can be found at
