Music Generation South Dublin HUBS Information and Enrolment Form

South Dublin County Council is lead music partner with Music Generation South Dublin and part of a national music education system founded by Music Network and co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, The Arts Council and The Department of Education. Music Generation South Dublin is supported by a local education partnership that includes the DDLETB and South Dublin Libraries. The aim is to provide quality performance music education to children and young people.

ABOUT THE HUBS

The HUBS programme is a Music Generation after-school programme providing quality affordable group lessons. HUBS musicians learn popular songs which are performed in a relaxed setting in ‘JAMS’ at the end of term. Classes begin mid- September and run for 2 terms of 15 weeks each.

TIME AND PLACE

Thirty minute after-school group classes take place between 15:00 and18:00 in four locations as follows:

 

Monday: Citywest and Saggart Community National School

Tuesday: Kingswood Community College

Wednesday: Rathcoole Community Centre

Thursdays: St Peter Apostle Community National School, Neilstown, Clondalkin.

 

Current group offerings are listed below:

 

 Vivo 1 (a pre-instrumental rhythm programme for ages 7-9 delivered through singing, games and other enjoyable musical activities)

Vivo 2 (the second term of Vivo pre-instrumental programme for ages 7-9  with some ukulele added)

Acoustic Guitar 1– no experience, learn chord shapes and strum patterns for popular songs

Acoustic Guitar 2 - improver – some experience, learn more difficult chord and strum patterns for popular songs

Acoustic Guitar 3 – developing with ambition, learn more complicated chords and rhythms and progress to Band Club

Vocal Club  – Music Generation vocal performance group 

Drums 1 – no experience

Drums 2 – improver – some experience

Drums 3 – developing with ambition – progressing to band club

Keyboard 1 – no experience

Keyboard 2 – some experience

Keyboard 3 – developing with ambition progressing to Band Club

Band Club 

 

 

FEES

Fees for one group class is €130 per 15 week term, payable on advisement, after enrolment, in 2 instalments 

 Instalment 1 September/October         Instalment 2 February/March.

 Keyboard classes are taken in smaller groups of two, with a more expensive fee of €190 per term.

We do not offer individual tuition.

Further instructions as to how to process your fee will be given after the places are booked and your place is confirmed.

Easy payment plans can be facilitated by special arrangement with the administrator after enrolment by emailing Musicgeneration@sdublincoco.ie.

 

Instrument hire: In some cases we may be able to provide an instrument to hire at the cost of €30 for the year. Enquire at the HUB.

Your booking

We will obtain and keep data only for the specific purpose of organising and promoting Music Generation tuition, workshops, rehearsals and performances. The data we need to collect includes names, addresses, telephone contacts, ages and permissions for photographic and video recordings. You will need to provide bank and other financial details only in relation to processing fees and payments.  Data will be kept in secure Music Generation South Dublin County Council files, password protected and only accessible to limited persons. For photographs and video we will obtain explicit consent in writing and retain copies in the Music Generation South Dublin files. Disclosure of data to another organisation will only take place under written contract and data will not be transferred to personal devices. Data may be legitimately shared with our partner organisations including Music Generation DAC, DDLETB, South Dublin Libraries. Notification of breaches will take place within a 72 hour time frame to the data protection officer. We will retain your data for the duration of the programme and may archive photographs and video. Data may be deleted as per council policy after 2 years have elapsed. You have a right to access any data we collect on you.
