Clondalkin Decarbonizing Zone

Open24 May, 2024, 09:00 - 7 Jul, 2024, 23:55

Thank you for taking time to do this survey of the Clondalkin Decarbonising Zone. We want to hear from community members living, working, studying or travelling around in Clondalkin as we need local experts, like you, to help us to understand what you need to reduce emissions in Clondalkin. Please read the information below before you start.

What is a Decarbonising Zone?

A Decarbonising Zone (DZ) is a specific area chosen by each local authority where a range of climate solutions are identified in order to reduce carbon emissions of the area. These solutions will aim to reduce emissions by looking within the community for ways to live and work more sustainably. These zones can find local solutions to global problems, which also benefit the local community, such as reducing greenhouse gases, improving air quality and water quality, saving energy, reducing waste and improving biodiversity.

Is the Clondalkin Decarbonising Zone Plan the same as the Clondalkin Local Area Plan?

No, the Decarbonising Zone Plan is separate from the Clondalkin Local Area plan. This survey is for the purpose of the Decarbonising Zone.

Below is a map of the Clondalkin Decarbonising Zone (DZ):

How will the Decarbonising Zone Plan impact me and my community?

The plan that is developed through this engagement process has the potential to impact how we go about our everyday lives. For example, how we heat our homes and how safe and clean our area will become in the future.

To reduce emissions and tackle climate change, we need to all work together, across businesses and communities. This is why it’s important to ask you, a community member, some questions.

If you would like to read more about this before completing the survey visit SDCC DZ Page.  https://sdcc.ie/en/climate-action/clondalkin-dz/
