Mayor Cllr Emma Murphy has opened this online Book of Condolence to allow people within South Dublin County to express their sympathies to the family of Private Sean Rooney, UN Peacekeeper in Lebanon.
Mayor Murphy said
On behalf of the citizens of South Dublin I wish to express my deepest condolences to the family of Private Sean Rooney.
Private Rooney lost his life serving the People of Ireland, serving the United Nations and protecting those who strive for peace across the world.
My thoughts are with Private Rooney’s family, his colleagues in the Defence Forces and the members of the Defence Forces who were injured in the incident on Wednesday.
