Public Consultation for Draft Road Traffic (Periodic Special Speed Limit)

Amendment Bye-Law 2019

 

South Dublin County Council proposes to make a bye-law for a periodic special speed limit of 30 kilometres in the following locations:-

 

Road Name

Location

Kiltipper Way (L3043)

From a point 15 metres south of public lighting pole no. 16 in northerly direction for 185 metres.

Castletymon Road (L3036)

From a point 28 metres east of the centre of the junction with Tymonville Road in an easterly direction for 210 metres.

Limekiln Road (L4013)

 

From a point 25 metres east of public lighting pole no. 18 in an easterly direction for 475 metres.

Collinstown Road (L1007)

 

From a point adjacent to public lighting pole no. 39 in a southerly direction for 195 metres.

Bawnogue Road (L1002)

 

From a point adjacent to public lighting pole no. 14 in a northerly direction for 175 metres.

Brookfield Road (L3003)

 

From a point 10 metres south west of public lighting pole no. 18 in north easterly direction for 185 metres.

 

 

This bye-law shall come into operation on the 1st June 2019 and shall be effective from 8.00 a.m to 9.30 am and from 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m on dates which are in accordance with the Department of Education & Skills school year, the Standardisation of the School Year document and at times specified locally.

The draft bye-law and associated maps are available for inspection from Wednesday 6th March 2019 until Thursday 4th April 2019, both dates inclusive at:

between the hours of 9am to 5pm,  Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm on Friday (excluding bank holidays).

The documents will also be available for inspection at Clondalkin Library, Monastery Road, Clondalkin, Dublin D22 XPO3, County Library, Tallaght,  Library Square, Tallaght, Dublin D24 A3EX  and Ballyroan Library, 54 Orchardstown Ave, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14, D14 XY75 on http://consult.sdublincoco.ie and on www.speedlimits.ie.

 

Submissions

Submissions and observations on the proposed bye-law can made as follows;

  • On South Dublin County Council’s Public Consultation Portal website http://consult.sdublincoco.ie up to midnight Thursday 4th April 2019.
  • In writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Roads Department, Land Use, Planning and Transportation, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24, to be received on or before 5.00pm on Thursday 4th April 2019.  Submissions should be clearly marked “Road Traffic (Periodic Special Speed Limit) Amendment Bye-Law 2019”.

Please make your submission by one medium only.  Only submissions received as set out above will be considered.  Submissions cannot be accepted in any other format or to any other postal address.

 

Submissions and observations should state the name, address and where relevant, the body represented. All comments submitted, including the names and addresses of those making the comments, will form a report to be presented to South Dublin County Council, and will form part of a public document.
