Under the provisions of the Road Traffic Acts and having regard to the safety, environmental amenity and efficient operation of the road network, South Dublin County Council proposes to undertake a review of existing Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) restrictions within its administrative area.
The purpose of the Proposed HGV Restriction Review 2026 is to assess the continued appropriateness, effectiveness and impacts of current HGV restrictions, and to consider whether amendments, removals or the introduction of new restrictions are warranted in the interest of road safety, residential amenity, sustainable transport, and the efficient movement of goods.
