Proposed Material Amendment to the Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme 2019
Observation
am a resident of Seven Mills, Clonburris, and object to two of the proposed amendments.
Amendment No. 3 (vehicular railway bridge): I object to converting the planned bridge to pedestrian and cycle access only. Seven Mills has just two access points, and traffic already builds up at peak and school times, with regular congestion on Fonthill Road North. Removing the bridge would push more traffic onto the same junction, and the Systra report itself shows worsening delays there. It would also leave the estate more exposed if access is blocked, including for emergency vehicles. Please keep a vehicular crossing, with walking and cycling provision alongside it.
Amendment No. 9 (parking): There is no bus serving Seven Mills and DART+ South West is years away, so families and children still depend on cars. Please don't restrict residential parking until public transport is actually running.
I also support the points in the Lockhouse Way Residents' Association submission.
Regards
Rony
