I do not support this recommendation.
?? Before identifying additional lands for large-scale housing, the priority must be to provide reliable and adequate public transport for the people already living in Lucan and Adamstown. Residents continue to experience overcrowded buses, limited capacity, service gaps and a transport network that has struggled to keep pace with significant population growth.
??️ Decisions on where future development should take place should remain with our elected councillors through the local development planning process, taking into account the full range of planning considerations—not transport accessibility alone.
Planning decisions should consider the complete picture, including:
• ?? School capacity
• ?? Road network and traffic congestion
• ?? The actual capacity of public transport services
• ?? Healthcare and community infrastructure
• ?? Environmental protection and the preservation of valuable open spaces
• ?? The impact on existing communities and quality of life
Access to public transport is an important consideration, but it should not be used in isolation to justify significant additional housing where existing transport services and supporting infrastructure are already under considerable pressure.
