Hi,

please remove Finnstown Castle from rezoning proposal.

NTA is recommending that the decisions to remove Finnstown Castle and St Edmundsbury from the proposed residential rezonings should not proceed. It believes these lands should instead be prioritised for housing because of access to existing and proposed public transport.

I strongly disagree with this recommendation.

The NTA should focus on getting public transport right for the residents already living in Lucan and Adamstown. Our communities continue to experience overcrowded buses, insufficient capacity, gaps in services and a transport network.

Planning decisions must consider the complete picture

?? School capacity
?? Roads and traffic congestion
?? Actual public transport capacity
?? Health and community facilities
?? Our environment and valuable open spaces
?? The impact on existing communities

Public transport accessibility should not be used to justify thousands of additional homes while current services and essential infrastructure remain under enormous pressure.

We don’t need new houses, we need better transport, more then one road to get to city centre, now the traffic on  Newcastle Road Adamstown is horrible, any day and time. There are SuperValu there, two schools and only way to get out. No infrastructure.

public transport- overcrowded, trains in the morning- not possible to get in. Buses- the same , if they come, or you are waiting sometimes one hour, because 2-3 buses were cancelled.

No schools, crèches, playgrounds and  more and more people and houses.

My voice- no for new houses in Finnstown Castle, make some nice park, where people can spend time with their families.
