Support for MA3.1
Caibidil:
MA Finnstown Castle
Ábhair:
MA3.1

I fully and strongly support MA3.1 to remove the proposal to rezone lands at Finnstown Castle for the following reasons:

  • This should be a high amenity area as there has been significant development to surrounding lands and this land represents the last remaining natural habitat between the Newcastle roadside and Adamstown for wildlife and nature to thrive.
  • This is an historical estate with a protected building. A planning application to build on these lands was rejected for one building as it would upset the setting of this protected building. What has changed to potentially allow 1,000 houses on the same lands?
  • The road outside Finnstown Castle is already heavily congested with traffic from Newcastle and Adamstown.
  • Finnstown Castle and surrounding areas is a 200-year-old estate which has historical significance in Lucan. It is a protected structure whose avenue, grounds and surrounding trees are preserved and individually tagged. If long term strategic development similar in scale to Adamstown is envisaged it cannot come at the cost of removing the last remaining green buffers.
Support for MA6.1
Caibidil:
MA St. Edmundsbury
Ábhair:
MA6.1

I fully support the decision by the elected officials to reject the proposal to rezone St. Edsmundsbury and support MA6.1.

This land should retain the high amenity zoning. It is a green belt along the River Liffey and home to much wildlife, many of whom are protected and breed on the land.

This land is one of the remaining open green, agricultural spaces along the Liffey Valley, home to established ecosystems and should be purchased by the state to safeguard it for future generations.

The lands include very old woodlands with mature oaks and beeches and include Protected Structures.

The land is adjacent to the Lucan Road which is already blocked daily with traffic heading to and through Lucan Village. This road can’t cope with any additional traffic.

No entry into Hermitage Park
Caibidil:
MA Foxhunter
Ábhair:
MA14.1

MA 14.1 needs to be stronger to specify that there can be no exit into Hermitage Gardens / Hermitage Park from the Foxhunter lands for any future development. This is to maintain the residential amenity of the local residents.
