Strengthen residential amenity
Caibidil:
MA Foxhunter
Ábhair:
MA14.1

I would like the council to further strengthen MA14.1 to protect residential amenity for the residents in Hermitage Park.

Please include a Specific Local Objections (SLO) that there will never be any access through Hermitage Gardens and Hermitage Park for this land. Access would cause a significant loss of residential amenity to all surrounding properties in the vicinity of the development affecting security and increasing the possibility of anti-social behaviour.

In previous planning application responses, An Bord Pleanala stated “the consequent intensification of vehicular traffic on the Hermitage Gardens cul-de-sac and the uncertainty in relation to the impact of increased traffic movements on the capacity and efficacy of the junction between this cul-de-sac and the regional road, the board was not satisfied that the proposed development would not seriously injure the residential amenities of adjoining residents and endanger public safety by reason of traffic hazard or obstruction of road users.”

MA14.2

I support MA14.2 to ensure that no bulk purchase of residential units is permitted.

MA Adamstown SDZ West
Ábhair:
MA2.1

I support MA2.1 because I agree that major public transport infrastructure should be operational before significant additional development proceeds. Future development needs to start after adequate infrastructure so that current and future residents can avail of it without delay.

Support MA2.2
Caibidil:
MA Adamstown SDZ West

MA2.2

I fully support that there is no bulk purchase of any residential developments to allow individuals and families to purchase a home.

Support for MA3.1
Caibidil:
MA Finnstown Castle
Ábhair:
MA3.1

I fully support MA3.1 to remove the proposal to rezone Finnstown Castle lands.

This should be a high amenity area as there has been significant development to surrounding lands. This land acts as the lungs to this largely developed area providing a much needed green buffer.

Previous planning applications relating to the grounds of Finnstown Castle were refused by SDCC and An Board Pleanala because it would cause a negative visual impact on the protected structure, its setting and it curtilage. This was for a single property, 1,000 as proposed would do untold damage as well as add to the already struggling road infrastructure and services.

MA St. Edmundsbury
Ábhair:
MA6.1

I strongly support MA6.1 to remove the proposal to rezone the lands at St. Edmundsbury for the following reasons:

This land is part of the green corridor leading into the Liffey Valley Strategic Amenity (SAA). It should remain as High Amenity.

This green connection is essential for safeguarding biodiversity, landscape value and public amenity in the wider Liffey Valley.

This land is one of the remaining open green, agricultural spaces along the Liffey Valley, home to established ecosystems and should be purchased by the state to safeguard it for future generations.

The land supports a diverse wildlife habitat including species protected under Irish & EU Law. Local residents have seen and photographed many such species over the years. It is known that foxes, badgers, stoats, pine martins, barn owls, red kites, bats, yellow hammer and many more live and breed on this land.

The land is adjacent to the Lucan Road which is already blocked daily with traffic heading to and through Lucan Village. This road can’t cope with any additional traffic.

Hospital and grounds have been an important part of Lucan village history for over 100 years.

Ábhair:
MA17.1

I support the addition of MA17.1. It is extremely important for this area and the surrounding areas of Lucan, Adamstown and Clondalkin that adequate transport, infrastructure and services are provided in advance of any future development. For years we have had to fight for additional services or transport links after many hundreds of residential units were added all around these areas. This leads to blocked roads, no school spaces and major issues in the communities.

I strongly support MA17.2 to assess future needs for services prior to any development and to provide these services prior to any development.
