I welcome the decision of the councillors not to rezone lands at Finnstown Castle. These lands should be a green space with priority given to protect the biodiversity and natural habitat for native species given the huge amount of development both completed and still to be completed around them. I would also urge the councillors to put more emphasis on infrastructure around Lucan before any more rezoning/further development. The current grid lock during peak traffic is a threat to life by hindering emergency services response times and would have only been made worse with further development on these lands
