Dear sir/madam,
I’m writing to share my opposition to the proposed rezoning of the lands at St Edmundsbury under variation No. 2 to the South Dublin County Development Plan 2022-2028.
These lands are a vital green space for West Dublin, especially for those of us living in Lucan and Palmerstown. To be honest, it’s one of the few places left where the local wildlife doesn't have to navigate a housing estate or a shopping centre just to find food. It is incredibly important that this wild area is protected from development so that future generations can enjoy a bit of actual nature, rather than just looking at pictures of where it used to be.
I fully support the recent decision made by the SDCC elected members on this matter. They correctly chose not to move forward with the rezoning proposal, which was a massive relief to those of us who prefer trees over concrete.
Yours etc,
Philip Tavey
