Retain St Edmundsbury as high amenity land
Caibidil:
MA St. Edmundsbury
Ábhair:
MA6.1

I am writing in favour of the proposal to retain St Edmundsbury as high amenity land. I am a resident of Lucan with four children and we have benefitted from the natural beauty of St Edmundsbury for many years.

The area provides a home to a plethora of birdlife, mammals, frogs and insects who make positive contributions to enrich Lucan’s biodiversity. The tree life provides much needed oxygen. The aesthetic beauty provides a free and natural relief to residents of Lucan from the stresses of our everyday lives.

St Edmunsbury is a central part of Lucan’s heritage and should be preserved. Access to the Liffey and the view of Shakleton Mills is a visual link to our local history and the strategic geographical location upon which Lucan grew.

If our National Planning Framework really values green infrastructure and fostering a sense of community and belonging, then we must retain St Edmundsbury as high amenity lands for the people, plants and animals of Lucan.
