North of the R148 there are 22 Protected structures, one recorded place (Ring Barrow) and the Liffey Valley Special Amenity Area.
This is the East/West gateway to and from South Dublin County. Its history and heritage are abundant. Priority should be given to developing the economic potential of this area and increasing the opportunities for people to visit. Small parcels of privately owned land separate several monuments such as the Mill Lane church from public roads.
This county development plan should seek to improve the potential for increased visitors to these sites while maintaining the natural biodiversity and heritage of the entire liffey valley area.
