South Dublin County Council have initiated the Safe School Zone programme to delivery safety measures in front of schools across the county.
St Cillian’s NS, Bluebell are a candidate for such works. Following a site walk, it was noted that there is concern about driver behaviour at the school gates. A design was developed to calm traffic and improve visibility of the front of school.
SDCC are proposing the following works in front of the school on Robinhood Road:
New pencil bollards (SRTS design); Painting of existing concrete bollards and installation of new flexi pencil bollards.
Coloured high friction roundels along the road surface to highlight the school frontage.
Associated services, line marking, signage and works.
These works will be executed under Section 38 of the Roads Traffic Act 1994.
